During our European adventure in the summer of 2023, we decided to make a stop in the city of Munich, Germany. I spent some time trying to find a cheap hotel in the city that was family-friendly. This was becoming a near-impossible task as it was the weekend. I was all for giving up and finding another city to stay in when I decided to search for a Premier Inn. To my surprise, there are Premier Inns in Germany, and there was one in Munich. The price was within our budget, and the location was central, so we decided to book. This is how we got on at the family-friendly Premier Inn, Munich City Zentrum.
Where is the Premier Inn, Munich City Zentrum?
Sonnenstraße 25, 80331 München, Germany
The Premier Inn, Munich City Zentrum, was in a perfect location for us. It was a short walk from Munich HBF, the main station, which we used. It was only a few minutes walk to the main Munich tourist attractions, and there were many bars and restaurants nearby. Which made it all very family-friendly.
Family Room.
Premier Inn offers value for money, and the Premier Inn, Munich City Zentrum, was no different.
The family room we were allocated was spacious and had a double bed and a pull out sofa bed. I believe that the Premier Inn mattresses are very comfortable. I wouldn’t know, as usual, I slept on the pull out sofa bed.
The bathroom was expected with a toilet, sink, and a walk-in shower.
We also had a view of the street outside. This was a change for us as we usually get a wall or a car park view.
The room also has a TV which did have some English channels, and the hotel has decent WiFi, which is great for children looking for screen time.
We didn’t hear a noise in the hotel, so great for getting Megan to go to sleep!
Food & Drink
Unlike in the UK, this Premier Inn didn’t seem to serve evening meals; it was small snacks like micropizzas and toasties. Only one couple was eating when we passed by.
We heard the receptionists pointing people in the direction of Max’s Beef Noodles, where we had eaten the previous night. Ignore the queues outside; they moved very quickly, and the food was of a good standard for the price. If that isn’t your thing, there are tons of family-friendly restaurants nearby. I’m sure the receptionists will help find something suitable.
Similar to in the UK, for €15.50 per adult, you can have an all you can eat breakfast buffet. Literally, everything was on offer, from cooked breakfast items to fresh fruit, and there were vegan alternatives on offer. Children under 16 eat FREE with a paying adult. This meant Megan could fill up on cereal, Nutella, and toast before we headed out for the day.
The bar in the hotel was quiet. However, I expected that, considering how many bars there are in Munich. We found this perfect as it allowed us to sit and have a relaxing drink, while Megan had some screen time.
Would we recommend?
Yes, 100%. We had no complaints about this Premier Inn at all. It was clean, the staff were brilliant and it was in a great location for getting around Munich. A real family friendly hotel in the heart of Munich.
